BIMBLE BOX BURL (Eucalyptus populnea), also known as Poplar box is an endemic tree of Australia. It is found in central and coastal Queensland to northern New South Wales. It can reach up to 90 feet tall and forms extensive open-forest communities in arid and sem-arid regions. The species is characterized by glossy, rounded dark green leaves and fibrous rough grey bark on the trunk and larger branches. In the north of its range the species integrates with the closely related to Brown's box also called Reid River box which is very similar in appearance.
