Exotic Macacauba Wood Bowl Wooden Bowl Number 7722

Bowl number 7722 is a hand turned bowl made from Exotic Macacauba. Each of my bowls are signed, numbered and dated (year). They are finished with a friction polish that's applied while still on the lathe.

This bowl measures 5 5/8" across and is 3 1/8" high

Macacauba (Platymiscium spp.) also known as Macawood, Hormigo, Orange Agate, Red Canary, Grows in Central and South America.

Heartwood color can be highly variable, ranging from a bright red to a darker reddish or purplish brown, frequently with darker stripes. Sapwood is yellow to white.

Common uses are furniture, cabinetry, veneer, musical instruments, turned objects, and small specialty wood items.
