Because this hook is handcrafted there will be variation in appearance, grain, size and color. While there are slight variation the basic Ergonomic shape is maintained. No two handcrafted hooks will be the same!

Heartwood ranges from light to golden yellow, to orangish brown. Whitish yellow sapwood generally paler than heartwood, but not always discernible from heartwood. Frequently seen with a mottled or rippled grain pattern, resembling ripples in satin fabric, lending to its name Satinwood.
This wood can be difficult to work because of its high density and interlocked grain. Most surfacing and planning operations result in tearout, especially on quartersawn surfaces. Also has a pronounced blunting effect on cutters.
Common uses are veneer, inlays, fine furniture, turned objects, and other small specialty items.
