​This handcrafted crochet hook is made from Camatillo. The hook is shaped with a larger handle to relieve stress on the hand and wrist when crocheting. The crochet hook has an Ergonomic shape that fits nicely in the hand.

Because this hook is handcrafted there will be variation in appearance, grain, size and color. While there are slight variation the basic Ergonomic shape is maintained. No two handcrafted hooks will be the same!

Camatillo (Dalbergia congestiflora) also know as Mexican Kingwood, is a beautiful Rosewood, rich with vivid purple & violet colors. Though related to Kingwood, the colors in this wood are more intense and the grain more demarcated.  Camatillo comes from Central America. This extremely rare Rosewood species holds its purple color better than any other Rosewood.

This wood is absolutely gorgeous! The grain appears to run whichever way it chooses, leaving some areas to glow with a slightly lighter color than the rich, warm looking wood. Fantastic to crochet with. I had a point added to my hook which aides in my fingers feeling for the end of the hook as I crochet with any type of yarn or faux fur. As always, communication is fantastic with Bryan and his wonderfully, hand crafted ergonomic hooks helps my forever problematic wrists and with my finger/hand grip. If you can decide which beautiful wood to buy, do it! You will not be disappointed. At least I wasn't & I am now a frequent buyer. Best hooks ever and I have quite the varied supply.
