This beautiful handcrafted crochet hook is made from Brazilian Kingwood.  The hook is shaped with a larger handle to relieve stress on the hand and wrist when crocheting. The crochet hook has an Ergonomic shape that fits nicely in the hand.

Because this hook is handcrafted there will be variation in appearance, grain, size and color. While there are slight variation the basic Ergonomic shape is maintained. No two handcrafted hooks will be the same!

​KINGWOOD - (Dalbergia cearensis)  grows in Brazil, South America, a true rosewood and the densest of all rosewoods.
​Kingwood got it's name from several French kings (Louis XIV and Louis XV) that preferred the wood in the use of fine furniture. 
Heartwood is a dark purplish or reddish brown with darker black streaks. Sapwood is a pale yellow.
Common uses are Inlays, veneers, tool handles, and other small turned and/or specialty items.

Gorgeous deep color. I didn’t realize the one wood hooks are shorter than the other hooks, and I was worried I wouldn’t like it. But honestly I love it! Glides through the yArn with zero hand fatigue. Thank you Bryan!

I decided to take the plunge on trying out a handmade crochet hook, but chose Nelsonwood after doing research and read about the high quality hooks and customer service, and I was not wrong! The hook is beautiful to the finish, sometimes I can't believe it's handmade! I've been using aluminium hooks for about 10+ years and wasn't sure if the large handmade hook would be comfortable but it turns out, it is actually more comfortable to hold, which came to a surprise! The wood grain on the hook is also beautiful - it shows that Bryan has taken extra care to choose woods with great form for excellent results. Bryan also answers all questions promptly. I would definitely advise everyone to get one! Where have I been all these years!!
