                             ZIRCOTE
ZIRCOTE - (microberlinia brazzavillensis) another name is Sericote.  It can be found in southern Mexico, Belize and Guatemala. The  heartwood is some of the most fantastic grain around. Sometimes you can actually make out landscape scene. It's a rich dark brown with thin black lines with some silvery flecking where the rays are randomly revealed. Zircote grow randomly in it's growth range and so is not widely available and can be very expensive. I find this a very hard wood to photograph. So sorry about the pictures.
