                                    JATOBA
   JATOBA - (Hymenaea Courbaril)  Jatoba also known in the US as "Brazilian Cherry" although it is not related to cherry, this is a good wood for flooring because it is VERY hard and dense, but it's a difficult wood to work for the same reason. Jatoba is from Brazil, South America.
  Other names for Jatoba are bazilian cherry, alga, algarrobo, azucar huayo, copal, copinol, courbaril, jutaby, jatahy, jutai, kawanari, pie de venado, West Indian locust, guapinal, jutai, rode locus.
  Jatoba is found in Southern Mexico, throughout Central America and the West Indies to northern Brazil, Bolivia, and Peru. The tree's best development is on ridges or slopes and high riverbanks. Throughout West Indies from Cuba and Jamaica to Trinidad and Tobago. Also from central Mexico to Peru, Bolivia, Brazil, and French Guiana. Sometimes planted in southern Florida.
